Trade Mart Utrecht

The award was given by TMU (trade Mart Utrecht), the permanent fair in the Netherlands for
all kinds of trades, (except funiture and shoes).
Each year a professional jury of the TMU chooses the most innovatif novelty.
In September 2002, did this the whole professional jury choose, out of the extreem various articles which where send in, unanimously for the SP-frame as beiing the most innovatif product.This is very great because frames hardly ever get this award.

His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf has appointed Polaris Optic AB as an official purveyor to the Royal Swedish Court.

Svensk Form
(The Swedish Society of Crafts and Design)

On 8 September 1999, Staffan Preutz was granted the award Excellent Swedish Design with an honourable mention from the jury with the following motivation:

"Creative, innovative thinking in the world of eyeglasses. These glasses without an earpiece are comfortable to wear and remain surprisingly steady without pressure. They are light, weighing only 2.2 grams. Polaris's glasses are the only model in the world that has been granted a patent. A vision of the future."

SVENSK FORM
is a non-profit association that has and have had an extensive influence on the forming of the Swedish society. Svensk Form was founded in 1845 and is the oldest design association in the world. Many innovations of Swedish origin are taken for granted today, among these the propeller, the refridgerator, the zipper, the adjustable spanner, the ball-bearing and the safety match. Svensk Form's assignments are to create a good environment for inventors, to inform and educate and to market Swedish Design. This is done e.g through the magazine FORM and the annual design award Excellent Swedish Design.

G-Mark
(Good Design Award)

During fall of 1999 it was announced that Staffan Preutz has been awarded the Good Design Award in Japan, in competition with designers from over the world. The awards are given to a number of products in different categories and is a well-known symbol in Japan.

Ministry of International Trade and Industry is the only official institution for design awards in Japan. The Good Design Award was established in 1957 and is a comprehensive evaluation system of design products. G-Mark is an official acknowledgement of products of a superior innovative and creative design.

The criterias to enter the Good Design Award are very comprehensive and originates from the issue of the design being superior and breaking new ground for the future. The Staffan Preutz design participates in the category "Products for personal use" and the final evaluation for the Gold Prize (best design in each category) and the Grand Prize (best design, all categories) have not yet been announced.

Receiving the Good Design Award for a product is an acknowledgement of the products superior design and quality. A G-Marked product indicates high quality and a good purchase.

Brussels Eureka - Gold Medal 1999

The Brussels Eureka - or the 48th World Exhibition of Innovation, Research and New Technologies - took place in Brussels between November 10-17 1999.
Approximately 800 exhibitors from 40 countries participate, displaying over 1200 inventions to approximately 35000 visitors and extensive media coverage from all over the world.

Staffan Preutz eyewear attracted a lot of visitors to the Swedish stand and was showed on Belgian television. The exhibition jury evaluates the inventions based on criterias such as creativity, social importance, commerciability, technology and presentation, and the evaluation resulted in a gold medal for Staffan Preutz.
